“The first of a pair of paintings I completed in 2018. I spent a lot of last summer carrying out photo shoots of 5 different models in different swimming pools. From these photo shoots have sprung a multitude of inspiration for new pieces of art. This particular pair was inspired by the incredible reflections from underneath the water, exaggerated by the luminosity of the 2 bikinis. I deliberately darkened her skin tone to really emphasis the reflections across her body. The piece is all about the intensity of light quality in water, the refractions it creates and the reflections.”
