Another Fine Mess - Oliver Hardy

from £350.00

Graphite, Pencil ~ Paper

An original Pencil drawing by Paul Stowe -

Oliver Norvell Hardy was an American comic actor and one half of Laurel and Hardy, the double act that began in the era of silent films and lasted from 1926 to 1957. He appeared with his comedy partner Stan Laurel in 107 short films, feature films, and cameo roles. The actual title of this piece is slightly incorrect - most people think that his catchphrase was “Another Fine Mess” when it was actually “Another NICE mess” - but doesn't roll off the tongue as easily so I guess that is why a lot of people think it is “fine” rather than “nice” :)

Drawn as always on smooth Bristol Board with Faber Castell 9000 series pencils and a Tomo Zero eraser - size for this drawing was c30cm X 40cm

The drawing is being sold unframed to reduce shipping costs - however I can offer a bespoke framing service as required - just send me a message to discuss.
