Specialising in Seascapes, Americas Cup, J Class Yachts and Historic Ships of the 19th and 20th centuary
Since childhood I have had a fascination with the sea. It has been the inspiration behind my artistic journey. As a self taught artist I have developed the skills best suited to attempt to capture this element. I work in oils , a medium I have found to both suit my personality and best represent the feeling and movement of the sea. Most of my paintings are inspired by walks along the shore when a momentary moment in time will spark the artistic vision.
I was born in Lancashire and worked for 15 years in the Aircraft industry before my families deep Cornish roots drew me south to the sea. Initially Yachts and Yachting where the main focus of my work . As a break from the historic accuracy required in my Yachting work Id often do small seascapes to loosen up a little. Over the years my small seascapes drew a following in themselves and now a major part of my work.
The focus of my work centers on movement colour and sense of place . I hope to transport my viewer to a time of good memories and warm summer days.
